Digital Divide

The digital divide is based on the concept of not being able to access technology or the internet and not understanding digital literacy. It has created barriers towards the goal of achieving educational equity. This furthers the gap in education even more, especially for disadvantaged students. In this context, educational equity is when every child receives the technology they need and the necessary digital literacy skills to effectively use that technology. Digital literacy is an individual's ability to effectively use digital media platforms to find and communicate information.
